Richard Bateman (29 April 1849 – 5 November 1913) was an English cricketer.
Bateman made a single first-class appearance for Hampshire in 1883 against Somerset. He scored a lowly 4 and 14 not out with the bat, ironically giving him an average of 18, higher than his top score, and did not bowl, nor did he take any catches. He never played first class cricket ever again.
Bateman died in Ash Vale, Surrey on 5 November 1913.
